Privacy Policy

Read Wilder is designed for children ages 6–10 and their families. We minimize data collection, keep reading activity on the device, and do not use advertising or behavioral tracking.

Effective July 17, 2026

1. The short version

  • No advertising, behavioral analytics, or sale of personal information.
  • No child accounts, public profiles, chat, camera, microphone, or location collection.
  • Child nicknames, reading level, and mission progress are stored locally on the device.
  • Limited purchase information is processed only to provide and support premium access.

2. Information stored on your device

A parent can create a local child profile using a nickname and reading level. Story progress, mission completion, preferences, and achievements stay on the device. We do not receive this information through the app. A parent can delete a profile in the parent area; uninstalling the app may also delete local information.

3. Information used for purchases

When a parent starts, restores, or manages a subscription, Apple processes the payment. Read Wilder may receive and store an anonymous app-installation identifier plus Apple product, transaction, subscription-status, and date information. We use it only to verify access, prevent purchase abuse, troubleshoot problems, and meet legal obligations. We do not receive full payment-card details.

4. Service providers

Apple provides App Store and StoreKit purchase services. Our purchase-verification service may use Google Cloud for application hosting and Neon for database hosting. These providers process limited information on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments.

5. What we do not do

We do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising. We do not place third-party advertising in the app. We do not build behavioral profiles, run third-party analytics, or allow children to post publicly or message other users.

6. Retention and security

Local profile data remains until a parent deletes it or removes the app. Purchase-support records are kept only as long as reasonably needed to provide subscription access, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and satisfy applicable law, then deleted or de-identified. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no system is completely secure.

7. Children’s privacy

Read Wilder is built to work without asking a child for contact information, an account, or online social features. Purchases, external links, settings changes, and data controls are placed behind a parent interaction. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.

8. Your choices and rights

Parents can view or delete local profiles in the app. Depending on where you live, you may also request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold, or object to certain processing. See Privacy Choices or email support@readwilder.com. We may need to verify the request and confirm that you are the relevant parent or purchaser.

9. Changes

We may update this policy as Read Wilder changes. We will post the new effective date here and provide additional notice when required.
